CoonTica Show
Somewhere over the Rainbow
Sun 29 August 2010
Congratulations to Saffi having gained her Grand Champion Title at the CoonTica Show at Rickmansworth in only her second show as an adult and still at only 10 months of age. Well done.

Saffi's results were;
3 x 1st Colour
3 x 2nd Colour
3 x 1st Division
3 x 2nd Colour
3 x Best of Breed
She was finalled by Edith-Mary Smith from Canada pictured below, naming her 3rd Best Cat in Show.

She was also finalled by Lisa Dickie and Tica President, Vickie Fisher, both from the USA. Vickie named her Best Cat in Show which was very fitting as it was she who judged us for the first time in our debut Tica Show naming our Blue boy Luey, as her Best Shorthair Kitten in that particular show, so we are naturally very grateful.
A special mention should also go to Coontica who staged a superb show in what can only be described as a wonderful location, 'The Great Hall' at the Royal Masonic School for Girls in Rickmansworth. This same hall was used in an Indiana Jones film, so you can only imagine how plush it was.

Ragtime Tica Show
Sat 16 & Sun 17 Jan 2010
On Saturday 16 Jan, we travelled to Wood Green In Godmanchester with Georgie and then on the Sunday with Prince, both of whom were lining up for their debut Adult shows.
In Georgies case, being the dainty little soul she is and still only 9 months old, this was really just a handling excercise to see how comfortable she was being handled by so many different judges. We were delighted with her results and look forward to her coming out again in the future when she has developed more.
Below are Georgies results;
6 x 1st Colour
2 x 1st Division
2 x 2nd Division
2 x 3rd Division
1 x Best of Breed
2 x 2nd Best of Breed
Prince also did us proud with his results and was just 10 points short of his target of 300 to make Champion in his first Adult show whilst still only 8 months young. So his title is temporarily on hold until February hopefully when he comes out next.

Below are Prince's results;
6 x 1st Colour
4 x 1st Division
2 x 2nd Division
4 x Best of Breed
2 x 2nd Best of Breed
Finalled once by Judge Thomas Andersen from Denmark who is a fellow BSH breeder, pictured below.

CatTica Show
Sat 14th Feb 2009
Having been showing for the past 5 years, we recently decided we wanted to check out the methods of TICA (The International Cat Association) and how their Shows were conducted. We visited two of their Club Shows as observers at Coventry in Dec 2008 and at Godmanchester in Jan 2009 and were impessed and felt very comfortable with what we saw, before embarking as an exhibitor for the first time on Sat 14 Feb 2009 at Slough.

It has to be said, the format at Tica is very much different from those we had become accustomed to and at first can feel daunting, however, the offer of assistance from fellow exhibitors as well as officials was plentiful and after the welcome given to us many 'Newbies' by the newly elected President of Tica, Vickie Fisher from the United States, we were more at ease and ready for the day to commence.
We entered our male kitten Luey into the Show in which he was to be judged by 6 different judges throughout the day from which he was awarded;

1 x 1st Colour, 1 x 1st Division and 1 x 1st Best of Breed.
5 x 2nd Colour, 5 x 2nd Division and 4 x 2nd Best of Breeds.
1 x 3rd Best of Breed.
1 x 3rd Best Kitten in a Final.
There were a total of 36 kittens on show on the day which was made up of a combination of short and longhairs.
We would like to thank the many people who guided us through the day and look forward to seeing them again at a future show.
Below are some of the pictures taken throughout the day.

Vickie Fisher naming Luey as her 3rd Best Kitten in her Kitten Finals
